I only wear Injinji toe socks while backpacking. These are what work well for my feet for these long distance hikes.

I do prefer to wear these to the end of their life. This means they’ll either have holes (usually big toe or ball of foot), are crunchy even after washing, permanently stink, stained, etc. Typically I’ll rotate out socks every 4-6 weeks and will communicate availability & shipping timeline with you.

Thru Hiker Trail...

*PLEASE NOTE Thru hiker shoes are NOT for the faint of heart. These are typically left outside of hotel rooms, because even just walking inside will leave a lingering smell. Price Includes: - Shoe worn for it's lifetime (usually 500+ miles) - 30+ mix of pics and video clips - 1 month free access to OF to follow my journey - Priority shipping within the US I only wear Altra trail runners while backpacking. For this thru hike I will wear a mix of Lone Peaks, Superiors, and King Mountains. Depending on the shoe and terrain, I usually get around 500-600 miles out of each pair. Which means I’ll have pairs available every 3-4 weeks. Sometimes I’ll push a shoe further by swapping out insoles, if this is the case with your pair I will happily send you the used insole as a teaser! Feet do expand during a through hike! I will start the first month or two in size 7.5 and will likely switch to size 8 for the rest of the journey. There is a possibility that I even go to size 8.5!!!
