I only wear Altra trail runners while backpacking. For this thru hike I will wear a mix of Lone Peaks, Superiors, and King Mountains. Depending on the shoe and terrain, I usually get around 500-600 miles out of each pair. Which means I’ll have pairs available every 3-4 weeks. Sometimes I’ll push a shoe further by swapping out insoles, if this is the case with your pair I will happily send you the used insole as a teaser!

Feet do expand during a through hike! I will start the first month or two in size 7.5 and will likely switch to size 8 for the rest of the journey. There is a possibility that I even go to size 8.5!!!

I only wear Injinji toe socks while backpacking. These are what work well for my feet for these long distance hikes. I do prefer to wear these to the end of their life.
